Royals to celebrate Latin culture wearing 'Los Reales' jerseys

The Royals will become "Los Reales" for one night in July. During its July 25 game against Houston, Kansas City will wear special jerseys with "Los Reales" stamped across the front instead of the customary scripted "Royals."

The debut of the new jerseys will coincide with Viva Los Reales, a night that celebrates Latin culture. The night will also feature live Hispanic music and a salsa showdown among local restaurants. The first 15,000 fans will also receive a Yordano Ventura bobblehead.

Royals catcher Salvador Perez modeled the new jersey but said it would only be right to speak in Spanish when talking about the event. Catching coach Pedro Grifol translated for him. "He's really happy that we're having a Latin night, and he hopes all the fans have a good time," Grifol said. Fans on Tuesday night will receive a T-shirt that says "Los Reales" on the front.
