The Kansas City Jazz Museum is getting a Latino flair. A new exhibit called “American Sabor”


The Kansas City Jazz Museum is getting a Latino flair. A new exhibit called “American Sabor” officially opens Aug. 1 and runs through Oct. 27.
The exhibit celebrates Latino and Hispanic contributions to popular music over the years.

The traveling Smithsonian exhibit here as part of a 12 city tour, thanks to the Ford Motor Company Fund.
Joe Avila with the Fund says the exhibit celebrates America’s diverse history.

“The message we want to see people leaving with is that music and culture bring communities together,” Avila said.
He says Ford Motor Company Fund makes the exhibit free and open to the public, so it’s accessible to all people.
The exhibit kicks off with a party on Aug. 1 that features live music. There are also lots of other events taking place at the special exhibit
