Get ready for KIFF, Latin American and Urban film festivals - KansasCity.com

Latin American Cinema Festival of Kansas City: This collection of Spanish-language films begins Aug. 25 with “Años Después (Years Later),” about a Mexican who travels to Spain to reconstruct his past. The festival continues every Saturday through Sept. 22 at the Rio in Overland Park.



Kansas City Urban Film Festival: More than 50 features, documentaries and short films will be presented at the Screenland Crossroads and, as part of the KC Black Expo, at Bartle Hall Sept. 7-9. Highlights include “Bouncing Cats,” a documentary about hip-hop lessons in Uganda; “The Chicago 8,” about the anti-war protesters; and “The Under Shepherd,” about black churches.
